Blues legend B.B. King is set to take the stage Sunday, Nov. 30, at 8:30 p.m. at the Durham Performing Arts Center.
Mel Melton & The Wicked Mojos will open the concert — which is the first at the newly built facility located in the American Tobacco District on Vivian Street — at 7:30 p.m. Doors are scheduled to open at 6:30.
The Durham Performing Arts Center will host its official ribbon cutting on Monday, Dec. 1 along with a community open house at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to B.B. King, concerts this season are planned for Dec. 11 with Kenny Rogers, John Legend on Dec. 13, Harry Connick Jr. on Dec. 17 and Jim Brickman with the North Carolina Symphony on Dec. 18. Comedian Lewis Black is scheduled to perform Dec. 3 and Ira David Wood III’s presentation of A Chistmas Carol will be hosted at the center from Dec. 5 through 7.
